The Camera

Vocabulary Words -

 Parallax - The effect whereby the position or direction of an object appears to differ when viewed from different positions
Pentaprism - A pentaprism is a five-sided reflecting prism used to deviate a beam of light by 90°
Pellicle - A thin film
Periscope - An apparatus consisting of a tube attached to a set of mirrors or prisms
Aperture - A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument
Shutter - an opaque shield in a camera that, when tripped, admits light to expose the film or plate for a predetermined period
Exposure - the act of exposing a photographic film or plate to light
Depth Of Field - the range of distances along the axis of an optical instrument, through which an object will produce a relatively distinct image.
F-Stop - the setting of an adjustable lens aperture, as indicated by an f number.
Focal Length - the distance from a focal point of a lens or mirror to the corresponding principal plane
