Magazine Covers

Early Magazine Covers

Mothers Magazine, 1844. This cover was "the most common in the first two centuries of magazines". The cover is simple but really pretty.

The Poster Cover

Outdoor Life, 1929. This poster cover magazine came out decades before high-quality color photographs. I chose the cover because it looked nice with the animal there and the forest around it in the backround.

Pictures Married To Type

Beauty Handbook, 1979. This magazine cover was to sell and advertise things. Around this time, they started using vivid and seductive colors for covers.

In the Forest of Words

Guitar World, 1922. They made the title as big and clear as possible so it pops out and catches your attention. Once you read the title and see the guitars, you should be able to tell what the magazine is going to be about.
