Lenses and Photography Vocabulary.

I would use a telephoto lens to.. take pictures at a football game.
I would use a prime lens to.. take pictures at a basketball game.
I would use a wide-angle lens to.. take pictures of the marching band performing.

Depth of Field (shallow and wide)- the range of distances along the axis of an optical instrument, usually a camera lens, through which an object will produce a relatively distinct image. --

Light (angle and intensity)- how much light is in a photo. -- you can take a good photo when there's good lighting

Shadows- the amount of darkness of a photo --

Diffusion- a soft-focus effect resulting from placing a gelatin or silk plate in front of a studio light or a camera lens --

Exposure- the act of exposing a photographic film or plate to light --

Aperture (f-stop)- a usually circular and often variable opening in an optical instrument or device that controls the quantity of radiation entering or leaving it --

Shutter speed- speed -- you can take a good photo by setting the shutter speed to a fast pace , to capture the right moment

ISO- used to indicate the light sensitivity of the film's emulsion --
